How buying stone actually works.
CRS is a wholesale distributor. We import full slabs and supply them through stone fabricators, the same way the finest stone houses everywhere work. The part people don’t expect: everyone is welcome here, and the stone comes first. Here’s the whole process, honestly explained.
The four steps
Start with the stone. Walk our gallery
No appointment needed, no fabricator needed yet, nothing to arrange. Our Austin floor is open to homeowners, designers, architects, builders and fabricators alike. Browse thousands of hand-selected slabs, gallery-lit and organized, and tag the ones you love. Bring cabinet doors, paint chips, tile, anything your stone has to live with.
Choose your exact slab. We hold it for you
Stone is bought by the specific slab, not from a picture. When you have found yours, we note it by lot and serial number and place it on hold: two weeks for most materials, 72 hours for pieces in high demand. Nobody else can claim it while your project comes together.
Your fabricator purchases the stone
Stone is cut, shaped and installed by a stone fabricator, usually chosen with your kitchen designer, builder, or contractor. Your fabricator purchases your held slabs from us at wholesale and quotes you one complete number for the whole job: material, fabrication and installation together.
Delivery or pickup, then the craft
When your fabricator is ready, we deliver the slabs or they pick them up from our warehouse, usually days and sometimes weeks before installation, because fabrication takes time and depends on the job. From there it is craftsmanship, all in your fabricator's hands: templating your space, cutting the stone, polishing edges, and installing.
We are still here after the install
Questions about care and sealing, a future project, or anything about your stone: call, email, or stop by. We stay available to you long after the last slab is set. That is what a family distributor is for.
An honest word about pricing.
Natural stone trades like the commodity it is. Prices move with the quarry, the block, and the market, and a slab is only one part of what a finished countertop costs. Because we sell wholesale, your fabricator quotes you one complete number for material, fabrication and installation. What we cantell you on the floor is each stone’s price tier, so you always know roughly where a slab sits before you fall in love with it.
